April Hostess Group

Now that it's time for our May group, I need to get last month's pictures up. This card used the set Great Friends from the new mini catalog. I paired Rose Red card stock and ribbon with Basic Gray card stock. A Walk In The Park designer paper was also used.

To do the butterfly, I stamped the butterfly twice with white craft ink on Basic Gray paper and swirled over the top with Rose Red chalk from Stampin Up's pastels. Then I cut one butterfly out and attached it over the other one, using glue just in the center and lifting up the wings so it would stand out.

The layout for this card was inspired by Tessa Wise.

This card was copied the ever talented Beate. I improvised on the tag and left out the paper piercing for time's sake, but I loved Beate's card from the moment I saw it and couldn't wait to copy it!

This card is made with white card stock Baja Breeze card stock and Parisian Breeze designer paper, silver jumbo brads, baja breeze ribbon, baja breeze ink and a round silver tag.

I could never get a good picture of this card! I used So Saffron card stock and ran it thru the Big Shot with our new Manhattens embossing folder. It's layered on Basic Gray (I think this Gray is my new brown - and all time favorite color for pairing with pastel colors!).

Last, but not least, is this simple card using the Fifth Avenue Floral set and Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point and Chocolate Chip inks. It's layered on Chocolate Chip cardstock, with the wide Chocolate Chip ribbon tied around it.

Lovely cards. I really like the idea of stamping the butterfly in white on top of the grey and then rubbing chalk across it. Very nice effect.
